Bel Aire Neighborhood

Experiment in Community Unit Living

The Bel-Aire Addition was developed just after World War II under the "community unit" concept by Suncrest Building Corporation and H.C. Springstein. However, it wasn't until the 1950s that the combination of apartments, duplexes, and single-family homes began to appear. The plat offered broad but shallow lots perfect for the emerging ranch house type.
