Neighborhood Planning

Rock Island has been doing neighborhood planning since the 1960s. Planning efforts evolved over the years from working with Model Cities to establishing Neighborhood Planning Areas in the 1970s and 1980s for specific and strategic improvements implementation. The city aggressively pursued neighborhood planning in the 1990s with many of the neighborhood organizations still operating today.
