Changes to Rental Licenses Must be Submitted in Writing
Change in contact information
Per City ordinance, all rental property owners are required to notify the Inspection office within 30 day of any changes in:
- Ownership
- Property Agent
- Owner Address or Property Agent Address
(Per Chap 4, Art VIII Sec 4-182: If the property owner fails to notify the Code Official of any change in address all notice and invoices shall be sufficient if sent by first class mail to the owner or property agent’s last address provided on the last license application).
The required
Change Contact Information form must be submitted to the Inspection Division within 30 days of the change.
Reasons to Exempt or Deactivate License
If there is a change or a discontinuation of rental activity, the owner/agent must notify the Inspections Division, including for the following reasons:
- If property was sold
- If property is now vacant
- If it is now owner/family occupied
- If property is vacant for repairs or remodeling (for a long period of time or for a full licensing term)
The required
Exempt/Close License form must be submitted to the Inspection Division within 30 days of the change.
Authorize a New Property Agent
The Inspection Division will not conduct inspection with or communicate property issues with any person not
authorized in writing by the recorded property owner.
The recorded property owner may authorize more than one agent.
The required
Agent Authorization form must be submitted to the Inspection Division within 30 days of the change.
