Members of the Traffic Crash Reconstruction team are sworn police officers who have undergone extensive training and have obtained state certification to investigate serious traffic collisions to include fatal collisions.
Responsibilities include:
Thorough inspection of the vehicle(s) involved in the collision.
Analysis of the vehicle & crash site images and evidence.
Collection, creation and review of the traffic collision reports, witness statements, crash test reports, published studies and other documents.
Evaluation of the victim's medical records to determine the consistency of injuries with the available evidence.
Drawing evidence-based conclusions about causes and events during a vehicle collision.
