Biography 

John grew up in Rock Island and attended Rock Island High School.  He went on to attend Western Illinois University with a degree in Management followed by Indiana University Executive Development Management School.  With over 22 years working full time for the City of Rock Island, he began as a Lifeguard and then moved his way up to Aquatic Director, Assistant RIFAC Manager, Assistant Director, Superintendent of Recreation, and finally Executive Director of Parks and Recreation.  John also served as the Interim City Manager for 6 months after the retirement of Randy Tweet.    

From growing up as a kid in our programs and playing in our parks, to now overseeing them, he is excited to continue his career in this field and provide excellent services for our community. He stresses how he feels our recreation team is the best and how much he looks forward to continuing to improve what we offer to Rock Island.
