1. What programs does the City of Rock Island offer?

2. How do I apply for the City's Housing programs?

There is a waiting list application for the Housing Rehabilitation Program. In order to be placed on the waiting list, you may call the Housing & Loan Program Officer at (309) 732-2907. 3. How do I qualify for the City's Housing programs?

Eligibility varies depending on the Program you are applying for. Please contact the Housing & Loan Program Officer at (309) 732-2907 for more information.

4. My house needs siding and windows. Is there a program for that?

The City of Rock Island at its sole discretion will determine the eligible items upon inspection of the home. These items may include but does not guarantee any of the following:

• Repair or replacement of principal fixtures and components;
• Water and energy efficiency improvements;
• Repair or replacement of connection of residential water or local sewer lines; and
• Improvements to remedy barriers that restrict the mobility and accessibility of elderly or disabled persons.

The Program is structured to target needs, rather than wants. However, siding and windows are generally not found to meet the criteria for replacement under this Program.

5. My house needs interior work done-bathroom plumbing, electrical work, and painting. Is there a program for that?

The City of Rock Island at its sole discretion will determine the eligible items upon inspection of the home. These items may include but does not guarantee any of the following:

• Repair or replacement of principal fixtures and components;
• Water and energy efficiency improvements;
• Repair or replacement of connection of residential water or local sewer lines; and
• Improvements to remedy barriers that restrict the mobility and accessibility of elderly or disabled persons.

The Program is structured to target needs, rather than wants. Functional items that only exhibit normal wear and tear will not be replaced and items considered luxury improvements are not eligible under the Program. The City will make its best effort to determine the item or items that require the most vital attention and will make its best effort to assist its residents to the best of its ability.

6. I have a rental property that needs repairs. What is available for non-owner occupied properties?

At this time, there are no programs to assist with repairs for rental properties.
