How do I address the Council at a Council meeting, or speak on an item on the printed Agenda?

To speak on an item already on the printed Agenda, simply let the mayor, an alderman, or the city clerk know that you are there to speak on a specific item, and you will be called on when that item is being discussed. To speak on a topic not on the printed Agenda, a sign-in sheet is available at the entrance to Council Chambers, where you are asked to write your name, address, and the topic on which you wish to address. You will be called on during the "Other Business" portion of the meeting. You are asked to limit your comments to five minutes.
