The City of Rock Island is reminding residents of parking requirements that go into effect when snowfall reaches a depth of 2 inches or more.
Once snowfall exceeds 2 inches, parking is not allowed on all marked snow routes until the snow has stopped and the streets have been fully cleared. Vehicles parked on marked snow routes during this time may receive a $35 parking ticket and may be towed simultaneously.
To assist with efficient snow removal throughout the city, residents are also strongly encouraged to avoid parking on residential streets until plow operations are complete.
The City of Rock Island appreciates the community’s cooperation in helping ensure safe and efficient snow removal during winter weather events.
