The City of Rock Island will be implementing changes in the refuse collection days for certain neighborhoods starting the week of October 2, 2023.
If you participate in the Yard Waste Collection Program and/or the Curbside Recycling Program, your collection days will remain the same.
The trash collection day is being changed to be picked up on the same day as your yard waste collection day. This synchronization aims to simplify the waste management process for our valued customers and provide a more convenient experience for all residents of Rock Island.
If your refuse collection day is going to change you would have received a letter in the mail with your new collection date. If you did not receive a letter, your collection day will remain the same.
As a reminder, carts must be placed at the designated collection point no later than 7 AM on collection day.
For information regarding refuse collection dates, including the holiday collection schedule, please visit the City’s website at rigov.org/refuse.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this change.
