Provide some comfort this holiday season
The Rock Island Public Library is collecting comfort items for Heart of Hope
Ministries and Rock Island High School’s Rocky Resource Room, which helps support teenagers in need of basic items. Donations of household supplies or personal care items can be dropped off at any Rock Island Public Library location.
Deck the Downtowns!
Downtown Rock Island in partnership with the Downtown Davenport Partnership and Downtown Bettendorf Organization presents Deck the Downtowns, a series of holiday promotions encouraging people to eat, drink, shop and be merry downtown. All three downtowns will host a scavenger hunt for a holiday ornament in businesses now through January 1.
In Rock Island, search for the red holiday train ornament at more than 40 downtown businesses. The custom train ornaments were created by Crawford Company and decorated by Jackson Autobody & Custom Paint. Find 10 holiday trains and turn in the completed card at the Rock Island Library, Quad City Arts or Quad City Botanical Center and win the custom train ornament for your own tree. Participants will also be entered to win gift cards and a grand prize basket. Visit downtownrockisland.org or downtown Rock Island social media this week for a list of participating businesses.
