Notice to the Residents of City of Rock Island regarding Community Development Block Grant Program Year 2022 Annual Action Plan / Public Input Meetings
The City of Rock Island, as a designated entitlement community, participates in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program as administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The over-arching goal of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, especially for low and-moderate income persons.
The City will host two (2) public input meetings for the purpose of gaining public input regarding community needs as they pertain to the established funding priorities in the City of Rock Island’s 5 Year Consolidated Plan. There will be opportunities to provide comments relating to city support of fair housing, neighborhood improvement, public facility improvements, and affordable housing priorities.
The City will be holding one virtual meeting and one in person meeting:
In person meeting: July 5th, 2022 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The meeting will be held in Councils’ Chambers located at City Hall, 1528 Third Avenue Rock Island, Il 61201.
July 6th, 2022 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. It will take between five-to-twenty minutes to review priority options and provide comment.
