Rock Island offers EGG-xtra Safe & Fun Egg Hunt Options

            Kids, grab your swim suit and goggles and come to the Rock Island Fitness & Activity Center for the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Underwater Egg Hunt! Thousands of colorful eggs will be ready to grab on Sunday, March 14^th. Register for the time slot you prefer: 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, or 4:00 pm. Children under 48 inches are required to have adult participant in the pool. Bring a bucket or bag to hold your eggs in the water, towel, and goggles if needed. Eggs will float on the water, not sink to the bottom. (This is a safety precaution for our younger swimmers.) Participants will turn in their empty eggs to receive a goodie bag full of candy. Two spectators are allowed per swimmer. Spectators must wear face masks. Swimmers must wear face masks when entering and exiting the building and on the pool deck, but may remove them during their swim time. Group sizes have been reduced to allow for social distancing. Try to arrive in your swim gear to avoid overcrowding in the locker rooms. The hunt is $7.00 and pre-registration is required as space is limited. Registration closes March 12th. Get an Egg-cellent Home Delivery!   The week of March 29^th we will be delivering candy/toy stuffed eggs to homes. For $7, we will deliver 20 eggs and place them around your front yard. Sign up for a specific date and either the morning (delivered before noon) or afternoon (delivered before 5:00 pm) delivery. We will come to your location and hide the eggs for you and your family to search for! Want more than 20 eggs? Sign up twice for the same time slot and get more eggs delivered. This year’s Spring Egg Hunt will be altered to meet COVID guidelines. The event is free, but children ages 3-10 will need to be pre-registered to attend. Thousands of colorful eggs will fill Lincoln Park, located at 11^th Avenue and 38^th Street, on Saturday, March 27th for the annual Rock Island Parks & Recreation Spring Egg Hunt. Instead of hunt areas divided by age group, this year the hunt areas will be for pre-registered children from the same family to hunt for eggs together. Each area will be limited to 50 participants so make sure to register early as spaces will fill up. Bring your bags and baskets to gather eggs scattered throughout your hunt area. Dance to some silly songs while you wait and keep your eye out for a special bunny visitor to wave to! The egg hunt will begin promptly at 9:00 am.
