On Thursday, January 21, 2021 at approximately 2:38 A.M. the Rock Island Police Department responded to a report of shots fired the 1600 block of 7th Street.
Responding officers located a shooting scene and a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim, a 19 year old male, was transported to Unity Point Trinity Hospital and then flown to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with life threatening injuries. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
The incident is being investigated by the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. No arrests have been made at this time.
