On Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at approximately 8:16 p.m. the Rock Island Police Department responded to a residence in the 1200 block of 11th Street in reference to a report of a female stabbing victim.
The victim was transported to
Unity Point Trinity Hospital in Rock Island before being transferred to Universityof Iowa Hospitals where she succumbed to her injuries.
The victim was identified as 14
year old Lyric D. Stewart of Rock Island.
An 18 year old female, JimenaJinez, of Rock Island has been arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder for the death of Stewart. She is being held at the Rock Island County Jail on $1,500,000.00 cash bond.
