The City of Rock has completed the initial cleanup of the August 10th Derecho windstorm.

Residents may call Public Works at 309-732-2200 for missed locations. After Friday, October 16th additional requests can be made by calling the Public Works Department for a special pickup. As a reminder, all special pickup rules and regulations will apply.

 

Trimming and removal of damaged City trees due to the Derecho will continue to be completed in the upcoming months.

 

The Derecho windstorm caused widespread power outages and tree damage throughout the City of Rock Island. Rock Island Public Works would like to thank the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the Illinois Department of Transportation for assisting Public Works in our cleanup efforts. In total over 20,000 cubic yards of storm debris has been collected. The Public Works Department thanks Rock Island resident's for your patience during the storm debris cleanup.
