Rock Island Parks and Recreation is offering American Red Cross Lifeguarding classes March 20th to 22nd and again on April 17th to 19th at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center. The classes will be Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. All participants must be 15 years of age and must be able to complete a pre-course swimming test. The student must complete CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid before certification is complete. Certification is awarded only with successful completion of final skill and written test. Deadline to sign up for March class is March 18th, and deadline is April 15th for the April class. Class fee is $180.
