IL-92 Corridor Plan Map

The next public workshop will be Monday, January 13, 2020 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Moline Police Department located at 1640 6th Avenue and will focus on prioritizing key recommendations that will be the framework for the draft corridor plan.

Now underway, the IL 92 Corridor Plan is a collaborative effort between four area municipalities including Silvis, East Moline, Moline and Rock Island, and MetroLINK to create a cohesive framework and vision for the one of the area’s most important east-west corridors.

Moline, Illinois (December 20, 2019) – Bi-State Regional Commission has contracted with Gewalt Hamilton Associates to undertake a significant planning project along the IL 92 corridor with the goal, ultimately, to help position it as high-functioning multi-modal regional corridor that improves mobility, land use, economic development and safety. The IL 92 Corridor Plan will provide recommendations to the four subject municipalities on how to coordinate their efforts and pool resources for physical improvements along the two-mile corridor, and enhance transit and non-motorized mobility in cooperation with MetroLINK, the Illinois Quad Cities transit system.

The project team facilitated its first public workshop on August 16, 2019 at the Moline Public Library. The workshop engaged participants to provide input into the functionality, aesthetics, challenges and opportunities along the IL 92 Corridor. The IL 92 Purpose and Needs Report has been submitted to Steering Committee and Bi- State Regional Commission.  It will be discussed at the next workshop. The Report details existing conditions along IL 92 and proposes recommendations to improve safety, functionality and connectivity through the four subject communities.

A survey is currently available to better understand travel behavior along the corridor and will run through December 31, 2019. The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VS5JDXN. To date, over 400 participants have completed the survey. This survey will provide crucial information and feedback for decision- making.

The next public workshop will be Monday, January 13, 2020 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Moline Police Department 1st Floor Conference Room located at 1640 6th Avenue and will focus on prioritizing key recommendations that will be the framework for the draft corridor plan. Priorities may include: transportation design elements, right of way improvements, and evaluation of concept alternatives. Additional announcements for the workshop will be released in the coming weeks. Public input into the project is a critical step in creating policies that address the priorities of the subject communities.
