October is Fire Prevention Month, and to help small children understand the role of firefighters in keeping everyone safe, the Rock Island Library will offer a special Firefighter Storytime on October 1.
The Firefighter Storytime is Tuesday, October 1, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Rock Island 30/31 Library, 3059 30th Street. A Rock Island firefighter will read a story, talk about fire safety, and show children the gear, equipment and truck used by firefighters. The event is free and is aimed at children five and under and their caregivers.
