On Friday, June 21, 2019, 38th Street will be closed to traffic between 38th Avenue and Blackhawk Road due to the placement of a new asphalt driving surface. We anticipate that this work will be completed within about 6 to 8 hours, weather pending.
On Friday, June 21, 2019, 38th Street will be closed to traffic between 38th Avenue and Blackhawk Road due to the placement of a new asphalt driving surface. We anticipate that this work will be completed within about 6 to 8 hours, weather pending. Upon completion of placing the asphalt driving surface, 38th Street will be re-opened to bi-directional traffic.
Southbound traffic will be detoured west on 31st Avenue, south on 30th Street and then easterly on Blackhawk Road. Northbound traffic will be detoured west on Blackhawk Road, north on 30th Street and then easterly on 31st Avenue.
The City wishes to remind motorists and pedestrians that the 38th Street and 18th Avenue resurfacing projects are ongoing and to exercise caution and expect potential delays due to the construction work. Please follow all posted construction signs for detour directions as needed and watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zones.
Two of the City’s major north-south arterial streets: 17th Street and 30th Street will remain open and free of construction activities during this project.
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times during construction along at least one side of the roadway.
