[ARCHIVED] Arrest Warrant issued Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm

On Saturday, May 12th, 2019 at approximately 1:52 a.m., the Rock Island Police Department responded to the 2100 block of 3rd Ave in reference to a report of a fight / disturbance.

Responding officers determined that during the course of a fight between multiple subjects, a single gunshot had been fired. Shortly after, a 36 year old male victim arrived at Unity Point with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim has since been treated and released.

Through investigation of this incident, the Rock Island Police Department has identified the suspect in the shooting to be JAMAL JEFFERSON, 36 years of age. Jefferson is further described as a black male, 6’02, 230 pounds. An arrest warrant has been issued for his arrest for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm with a bond set at $100,000.00.
