If finishing a craft from that pile of unfinished projects was your resolution for 2019, the Rock Island Library's Open Sew Saturday might be just right for you.
If finishing a craft from that pile of unfinished projects was your resolution for 2019, the Rock Island Library's Open Sew Saturday might be just right for you.
The library is offering the Open Sew Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 19 at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street. The drop-in event was created as an opportunity for participants from the library's previous t-shirt quilt class to finish their projects, but it's open to anyone with a craft project they want to work on.
Library sewing machines and tables will be available, and a few basic sewing supplies. Participants should plan on bringing the fabric and other supplies needed for their specific project.
The event is not a class, but a library staff member will be available to assist participants with questions about finishing the t-shirt quilt or other quilt-related project. The event does provide self-directed crafters and sewers who need work space an opportunity to work on projects without distractions. Reservations are not required for the drop-in sewing time.
