Notice of Public Meeting
Notice to the Residents of City of Rock Island regarding Community Development Block Grant Five Year Consolidated Plan Listening Sessions / Public Comment opportunities.
The City of Rock Island, as a designated entitlement community, participates in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program as administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The over-arching goal of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, especially for low-and-moderate income persons.
The City will host a public listening session, to encourage idea sharing and discussion of funding priorities for City of Rock Island’s CDBG funding for the next five (5) years. There will be opportunities to provide comments relating to city support of fair housing, neighborhood improvement, public facility improvements, and affordable housing priorities.
The city will be holding a Listening Session on the following date and location:
January 21th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Rock Island Library Southwest Branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road, Rock Island, Illinois 61201
There will be Spanish, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda translators available
The public is encouraged to attend between the times listed above. It will take between five-to-twenty minutes to review priority options and provide comment.
Refreshments will be provided!
