Thursday Night Groove Concert Series - The "Thursday Night Groove" concert series continues at Schwiebert Riverfront Park on Thursday, October 11, 2018 with local band, Smooth Groove. Event is open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Venders will be on tap to serve food and drink, so come enjoy a fall night on the river. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Rock Island Unplugged – Please join City leaders and Department Directors as they organize the first ever Rock Island Unplugged on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at The Establishment, located at 220 19th Street in Rock Island. This is an informal, yet structured event aimed at citizens to have an open dialogue with city officials on city happenings. Hors d’oeuvres, non alcoholic beverages and a cash bar will be available to those that attend. The event is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm and go to 8:00 pm.
Free Leaf Bag Collection - The City of Rock Island is providing free leaf collection for its residential refuse customers starting now through Friday, December 7, 2018. Customers must place leaves in the approved paper yard waste bags and be placed at the normal refuse collection locations and days.
