Children and their families can build learning skills through play at the Hug-A-Book Superheroes at PLAY event, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.
12 construction play zones will give children and their families opportunities to play, create, and learn together. Activities include a crawler play area for super babies and toddlers, wall building and breaking for large motor skills, a superhero photo booth, create-a-hero stations where kids can build parts of their super suits, an everyday heroes craft where kids create a card for their everyday hero, superhero letter match and puzzle games, superhero yoga, and more. Activities are designed for the learning needs of children birth to five, with most activities aimed at the learning needs of kids two to five. Each child receives a new book and a take-home activity to continue the learning at home.
