[ARCHIVED] Tour Riverside Cemetery with Rock Island Library

History is all around us in the Quad Cities, and the Rock Island Public Library will introduce guests to some of that history in a reservation-only guided tour of Riverside Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Rock Island Public Library presents A Walking Tour through Riverside Cemetery from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, September 20 at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Cemeteries Division Manager Todd Slater will lead library guests on a free guided tour through the historic and hauntingly beautiful Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Guests will learn about notable persons buried at Riverside, view cemetery architecture and design of the past, and enjoy the beautiful landscape and river views. Registration for the event closes Wednesday, September 19.

Guests should be aware that the planned tour route includes hills and difficult terrain, and should wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. To register, sign up online at via the library's website calendar of events or call 309-732-7343. Tour guests should meet at the gates of Riverside Cemetery, 3400 5th Avenue, Moline.
