Libraries Rock slogan typed into wavy scroll

Whatever your interest, you can learn about it at the library, and that ROCKS! From crafting a necklace with ink and common hardware to making an aromatic shower fizzy, the Rock Island Library is helping adults rock their creative side this June.

The Rock Island Library is helping adults rock their creative side with the following two "Crafterwork' make-and-take programs this June:

  • Crafterwork: Alcohol Ink Washer Necklace, Thursday, June 21, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Downtown Library community Room. Participants will learn how to use one technique with alcohol inks to create a beautiful necklace using hardware washers.. Alcohol inks are a fast-drying transparent dye used on slick surfaces to create a colorful polished effect.
  • Crafterwork: Shower Fizzy: Tuesday, June 26, 6:00 pm, Downtown Library. Create your own shower fizzy. These scent balls are placed on the floor of a shower to dissolve and let the steam carry up the scent.

No registration is required for either program, and all materials are supplied. Each is free and open to the public, as part of the library's lifelong learning efforts for adults.

Libraries Rock brings you summer reading challenges, learning fun, and free events for all ages at Rock Island Libraries from June 1 to July 21. For details and more events, pick up a Summer Guide, visit the library website or call 309-732-READ.
