[ARCHIVED] World Record Setting Jugglers Performing June 22 at Library

Christa Hanson jump roping while on unicycle in front of large fascinated crowd of children

The room will be rocking when the Hanson Family Jugglers and Unicyclists from Kanawha, Iowa, perform their Libraries Rock Summer Reading Show on Friday, June 22, at 10:30 am at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

Mark Hanson, a two-time Guinness World Record holder for speed juggling, his daughter Christa, a national unicycle champion, and the rest of the Hanson family performance team, are bringing their talents to the Rock Island Library. The family has performed twice for the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team, as well as for numerous libraries, school assemblies, and daycares.

Hear inspiring stories about the power of reading as you watch the Hanson family perform amazing juggling and unicycle tricks. Discover how to improve yourself through reading and be challenged to learn new skills. Volunteer for a chance to survive the spine-tingling Juggling Tornado of Doom! After the show, stick around to take part in juggling lessons and balance skill challenges. Kids and families can work with juggling scarves, plastic spinning plates, balance poles, and ribbon sticks.

Both the performance and the workshop afterwards are free and open to the public.
