February is Heart Month, and the Rock Island Library will host a speaker that will help you learn how simple steps can add up to a more healthy heart.

Heart Health: Making Exercise Fun will be presented by Dan Saskowski at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6 at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

Saskowski, manager of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab for Unity Point Trinity, will discuss how to reduce your risk of heart disease. His talk will cover training for sports vs. fitness for fun, how much exercise you really need for improved health, and help audience members explore other activities that are fun and add to health, but are not traditional exercise.

From 1989 to 2009, Saskowski wrote the "Ask Sask" column on health and fitness in local newspapers. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, and holds a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Northern Iowa. Saskowski has been affiliated with Unity Point Health Trinity Medical Center's Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program since 1989.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
