Community Crime Prevention Partnership Meeting – Please join the City of Rock Island Police Department on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 for their monthly crime prevention meeting. This month’s topic will focus on introducing Nicholas Pauley; the Elderly Service Officer. These educational meetings are intended to strengthen the partnerships with the citizens of Rock Island and the Police Department. Meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm at the Community Room of the Police Department at 1212 5th Avenue in Rock Island.
28th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner – The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center is delighted to invite Quad City citizens to its Thanksgiving Holiday dinner on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Come out to enjoy a free hot holiday meal and mingle with family and friends from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the King Center, located at 630 9th Street in Rock Island. Free Leaf Bag Collection - The City of Rock Island is continuing free leaf collection for its residential refuse customers now through Friday, December 1, 2017. Customers must place the leaves in the approved paper yard waste bags and be placed at the normal refuse collection locations and days.
