The Cookie Monster's Birthday party is from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Rock Island 30/31 Library, 3059 30th Street. The free event for all ages includes cookie decorating, a cookie toss game, crafts, and a story. Cookie Monster can't be at the event in person, so make sure you sign his birthday card. Registration is not required.

"Me prefer not to talk about my age," says the Cookie Monster. Sources in the know, however, note that he was "born" November 2, 1969. The shaggy blue monster, who loves cookies to distraction (but only after finishing his fruits and vegetables,) is a creation of Sesame Street.
