On Monday, October 23, the intersection of 7th Avenue and 27th Street will be closed to traffic for installation of a new storm sewer in relation to the City’s Long Term Control Plan.  Local traffic will be maintained along 7th Avenue up to the intersection of 27th  Street.  Access to all local businesses will be maintained.

Eastbound thru traffic will be detoured north on 24th Street, east on 5th Avenue, south on 30th Street and then reconnect with eastbound traffic at 30th Street and 7th Avenue.  Westbound traffic will be detoured north on 30th Street, west on 5th and 4th Avenues, south on 24th Street and then reconnect with westbound traffic at 24th Street at 7th Avenue.

Travel delays can be expected during the construction at or near this location.  Pending favorable weather and commencement, the anticipated date of completion and resumption of normal traffic may require several weeks and it is hoped that thru traffic along 7th Avenue will resume by November 22, 2017.

Please follow all posted construction signs for detour directions as needed and watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zones.

The City of Rock Island is sorry for any inconvenience due to this road work and appreciates the patience and consideration of the traveling public.
