A summer partnership from Metro will allow children to travel for free to summer reading programs at two Rock Island Public Libraries and the Moline Library just by showing a valid library card.
The program encourages transit use by children ages 4 to 12 that sign up for the Rock Island Public Library and Moline Library summer reading programs. Valid library cards will be accepted as fare for children accompanied by one paying adult. Multiple children can be accompanied by one adult.
The library-card fare waiver is valid only when traveling to and the following library locations:
The Rock Island Library Reading by Design program runs until July 15. The Moline Public Library Oceans of Stories, Rivers of Words program runs until July 28. Riders must show a valid library card from the Moline, Rock Island, East Moline or Silvis Libraries to claim the fare waiver, which lasts through July 28.
