Book Sale October 24 and 25 Poster, details in main story

Winter is coming, which every reader knows that it’s time to build up a hoard of books for cozy nights of reading. The perfect place to do that is this Friday and Saturday at the Rock Island Public Library’s final book sale of 2025.

Rock Island Public Library Foundation PALS volunteers will host the “pay what you want” book sales on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25, both from 10 am to 1 pm at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street.

The sale offers great options to affordably stock up on a wide variety of books and other items for children, teens, adults in a variety of reading styles – fiction, non-fiction, cooking and instructional books, and more. Buyers can set their own price on books that are not specially marked.

The specially-marked table includes unique items, such as puzzles, marked at $1

Cash, check, and credit/debit payments accepted. Proceeds benefit the library through Library Foundation PALS (People Advocating for Library Services) contributions.

Information about PALS membership is available at the sale or via the Volunteer page on the library website.

For more information about library events and services, visit the library website, call 309-732-7323 (READ,) or follow library Facebook and Instagram social media pages.
