Effective immediately, residents in Rock Island between 24th Street and the Moline border, and from 31st Avenue to the Rock River are no longer under a boil order.
The recent boil order has been officially lifted following water testing that confirms the system is safe.
After a boil order is lifted, residents should:
- Run all cold water faucets for at least 5 minutes.
- Flush any appliances connected to water lines (ice makers, water dispensers, etc.).
- Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
- Drain and refill hot water heaters set below 113°F.
- Change refrigerator water filters.
