Families and adventurous kids of all ages can level up their dragon training skills this Friday with a free event at the Rock Island Public Library Watts-Midtown Branch.
Level Up Your Summer at the Library! The Dragon Training Academy event is at 10 am on Friday, June 27 in the Watts-Midtown Branch Community Room, 2715 30th Street. The live-action show for all ages brings the excitement of realistic-looking animatronic dragons to the library.
With the help of “Brock Barnabas,” world-renowned steampunk time traveler and inventor, kids will train on how to defend against and tame an overpopulation of Medieval dragons, using Brock’s amazing science-based inventions and techniques. Kids then get to use their newly learned skills to deal with a dragon in the room, accidently drawn to the future by Barnabas.
The highly interactive show includes Brock’s scientific inventions, humor, energetic play and activity, and of course, realistic animatronic puppets. Afterwards, audiences can stick around to meet and greet a baby dragon animatronic puppet. Brock Barnabas, aka performer Caleb Strutz, is part of the Wisconsin-based Strutz Entertainment family of performers and shows.
