What are your toys up to when you're not looking? Find out by dropping them off to the library's Stuffed Animal Campout, July 19 at the Watts-Midtown Branch.
Because Everyone Enjoys a Summer Campout: Stuffed Animal Sleepover July 19 at Rock Island Public Library Watts-Midtown Branch
Toys get to have fun, too, at a Stuffed Animal Sleepover hosted at the Rock Island Public Library’s Watts-Midtown Branch on July 19.
Kids of all ages can drop off a special toy or stuffed animal at the Watts-Midtown Branch, 2715 30th Street, between 5pm and 6pm on Friday, July 19. They'll enjoy a special storytime with their stuffed animals at 5:30 pm. Kids will make a camper name tag for their toy, and tuck them in before leaving their toys at the library overnight. All toys are welcome at the free event.
From making S’mores to hiking, library staff have planned a full night of campout adventures for your friends, and will be documenting on what the toys are up to when their owners aren’t watching. Stuffed animal/toy pickup is from 10am to noon at the Watts-Midtown Branch on Saturday, July 20.
The Library’s Read, Renew, Repeat Summer Reading Challenge continues through July 31. The library is encouraging adults, children, and teens to read at least 1,000 minutes, which works out to about 16 minutes a day. The library has set a community goal of 500,000 minutes for the all-ages challenge, and participants may sign up anytime.
