Oz is a professional magician from Des Moines who has earned the International Rising Star of Magic award. She travels around the world doing magic shows, and got started in magic at age 4, after seeing a magician perform at a local library. She and her mom checked out all the books on magic tricks from that library and she was hooked. When Mikayla is not performing magic shows she runs an international program called The Magician School which teaches young people communication, leadership and social literacy skills through magic tricks.
The free suitable is suitable for all ages, open to all, and a great choice for groups!
The Library’s Read, Renew, Repeat Summer Reading Challenge continues through July 31. The library has set a community goal of 500,000 minutes for the all-ages challenge, and participants may sign up anytime.
