[ARCHIVED] Warm Up with a Family Dance Party!

Hug a Book Dance Party Jan 20 2024

While the thermometer continues to read "super cold," you can warm up and have a super time at the Rock Island Library's Hug-A-Book family dance party on Jan. 20. The free event is at the Downtown Library.

The thermometer continues to hover around “super cold,” but families of toddlers and preschoolers can warm up and have a great time at the Rock Island Public Library’s Hug-A-Book Dance Party.

The free event for two-to-five-year-old children and their families is Saturday, Jan. 20, from 11 am to noon at the Rock Island Public Library Downtown, 401 19th Street. Each child attending will receive a free book, bag, and dance props, thanks to the Merrill Harris fund of the Rock Island Public Library Foundation. The event is open to all and no registration is necessary.

The dance party is one of four annual events in the library’s Hug-A-Book early learning series. Built around the Every Child Ready to Read skill-building practices of “Talk, Sing, Play, Read,” Hug-A-Book gives parents and other caregivers the tools to build a child’s lifelong love of reading.

For more information about library events and services, visit the library website, call 309-732-7323 (READ,) or follow library social media pages.
