  1. Unplug Illinois Day

    July 11, 2020, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

    Rock Island Parks and Recreation encourages the community to participate in Unplug Illinois Day on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Rock Island Parks and Recreation will offer free pop-ups in the park on July 11th. Participants visiting Longview Park from 10:00 am to 11:30 am will get to play with bubbles, get creative with sidewalk chalk, do an art activity, and listen to music. Visitors to Eleanor Wallace Dog Park between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm, can bring their four-legged friends for bubble fun, tennis balls for the first 50, dog treats and music. Golfers can make a tee-time to hit the links at Saukie Golf Course using the Unplug Illinois- 2 for $40 special after 1:00 pm. A free Drive-in movie will also be held at the Rock Island Sports Complex featuring Dolittle, for families to enjoy together.

  2. Drive in Movie

    July 11, 2020, 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm @ Alan A. Campbell Sports Facility

    Join the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department for a Drive-in Movie in the Park! Dolittle, a family friendly movie featuring Robert Downey Jr., will be the feature presentation at the Campbell Sports Complex. Staff will be directing vehicles to park every other space so all vehicles are six feet apart. People must remain in their vehicles to watch the movie. A mobile concession stand (cash only) will be available. This drive-in movie is presented by Blackhawk Bank and Trust with contributions by the Rock Island Parks Foundation, South Rock Island Township, and the Rock Island Township. For inclement weather, call the rain line at (309) 732-RAIN (7246) after 3:30 pm on the day of the movie.

  3. Starlight Revue Concert in the Park

    July 14, 2020, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm @ Lincoln Park

    The Starlight Revue 64th Annual Concert Series is proud to feature The Gray Wolf Band. There will be no dinner or dessert vendor. Rock Island Parks and Recreation will offer packaged food including popcorn, pop, chips and candy. There will be no dance lessons and patrons should bring their own chairs to spread out across the park as park benches in front of the stage and the dance floor will be blocked off. We ask all patrons to be smart, wear masks, practice social distancing, and to keep seating grouped with those in your immediate household. With these measures in place we can provide a safe and enjoyable outdoor music experience.
