  5. Frieze Lecture Series: Modern Lives

    Vive le Figge! For the 21st annual Frieze Lecture Series, the Rock Island Public Library and Augustana College will join in a celebration of the Figge Art Museum and its extraordinary exhibition French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950. Join us for fascinating talks and discussions with Augustana College professors on some modern subjects. Lecturers include: Oct. 23: Dr. Emily Cranford, visiting assistant professor of French; Oct. 30: Dr. Kiki Kosnick, assistant professor of French; Nov. 6: Dr. Taddy R. Kalas, professor of French; and Nov. 13: Dr. Claire Kovacs, director of the Augustana Teaching Museum of Art. Each professor speaks for about 40 minutes on their topic, with time after for discussion, coffee, and cookies. It's a college-level lecture with no tests or grades!
