The City of Rock Island offers a Curbside Recycling Subscription Program which any Rock Island citizen or business may join.
The City of Rock Island has a contract with Republic Services to provide recycling services.
Recycling collection is divided into six (6) curbside recycling routes and will be collected every two weeks.
To determine your recycling collection day please refer to the Recycling Collection Map or click the link above (when in the map select the "Recycle Refuse by Address" layer, enter the address, then click on the map for "pop up" information) and the 2023 Curbside Recycling Collection Schedule or the 2024 Curbside Recycling Collection Schedule.
The Holiday Collection Schedule will indicate if recycling collection will be delayed due to a holiday.
If your recycling was not collected on your collection day, please contact Republic Services directly at 563-823-1323.
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a recycling cart plus specific information about the 2023 Curbside Recycling Collection Schedule, a list of items that can and cannot be recycled, and set-out requirements.
As of January 1, 2012, electronic items are banned from Illinois landfills.
To cancel the Curbside Recycling Program, please fill out a Voluntary Program Cancellation.
An application will need to be submitted to request an additional recycling cart.
