The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center hosts an annual Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner. Open to all who would want to come and enjoy a hot holiday meal and mingle with the neighborhood community. We also invite people to submit names of Rock Island elderly that are sick and/or shut-in, so volunteers can deliver meals to them. Please be aware that residents of the city’s four elderly high-rise apartment buildings are already on the list. Volunteers are welcome to work as hostesses, decorators, buffet servers or runners, working in the kitchen, and at the end of the festivities we need a clean-up group.
Party So many children look forward to opening gifts on Christmas. This program provides wrapped gifts, books and treats for Rock Island/Milan children, ages 3 to 12 yrs, whose families are in need of assistance during the holiday season.
