The City of Rock Island offers a Curbside Recycling Subscription Program which any Rock Island citizen or business may join.

Program Details

• Cost is $24 per year (billed quarterly on the property owner’s utility bill).
• Each subscriber will receive one 48-gallon recycling cart.
• Subscribers may pay a one-time fee of $10 and receive a 96-gallon cart in place of the 48-gallon cart.
• Subscribers may join the program anytime during the year.
• All recyclables must be placed in one cart.
• Recycling carts are emptied every two weeks.

Service Application Process
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a recycling cart plus specific information about the curbside recycling collection schedule, a list of items that can and cannot be recycled, and set-out requirements.

As of January 1, 2012, electronic items are banned from Illinois landfills.
