The City of Rock Island's Personnel Department accepts applications for all job openings with the City. Applicants are required to complete a city application. A resume and cover letter may be attached. Applications are available on-line by clicking
here or in the Personnel Department located in City Hall, 1528 Third Avenue, Rock Island. The City does not accept resumes or applications for positions that are not vacant.
If selected for employment, residency within a ten (10) mile radius from 17th Street and 31st Avenue in the State of Illinois must be established no later than six months after the completion of probation. (Exception: Department Heads must live within the city limits of Rock Island.) Residency within these parameters must be maintained for the duration of employment with the City of Rock Island.
