DO YOU HAVE A LIBRARY CARD?
As a resident of Rock Island or of the Milan Blackhawk-Area Public Library District, you qualify for a free library card as part of your tax-supported library service. Cards are also available for a fee to certain non-residents. As the “smartest card in your wallet,” your Rock Island Public Library Card allows you to:
- Borrow books in a wide variety of formats from the Rock Island Public Library, or any other library in the Quad-LINC system.

- Borrow music CDs, audio books, computer DVDS and CD-ROMs, graphic novels, multimedia kits, educational and entertainment movies and magazines for a wide range of ages and needs.
- Reserve books and other materials that aren’t immediately available.
- Access online research resources, such as our Learning Express Library and directories of magazine and newspaper articles.
- Use up to an hour of free Internet time on our public Internet terminals.
As a special benefit to Quad City residents, you may borrow or return books from or to any library in the Quad-LINC system. Cards are available for both adults and children (with parent’s signature). To apply, you’ll need two forms of ID. For more details, click here.
