50/50 SIDEWALK AND CURB PROGRAM
This program is offered each year and continues as long as sufficient funds are available. The program is administered by the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.
This program allows property owners to pay just 50% of the cost to replace existing sidewalks or curbs in the public right-of-way which have deteriorated. Engineering Division staff will determine what sections of public sidewalk and curb qualify for this program.
To participate in the 50/50 Sidewalk and Curb Program, property owners must call the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department at (309) 732-2200. Job parameters and cost will be determined and then a bill will be sent to the property owner to cover 50% of the cost. When the City has received payment from the property owner, this work will be scheduled with the private contractor hired by the City. Depending upon citizen enrollment and timeliness in applying for this program, every attempt will be made to accomplish all work submitted for each year's list.
