WHEN WILL THE PROGRAM BEGIN?
WHAT IS THE COST?
- $36 per year per subscriber. Program years end on March 31st.
WHAT CAN BE RECYCLED?
- Plastics #1-7 (milk jugs, detergent, shampoo & liter bottles, food containers, etc.)
- Tin cans and aluminum cans
- Corrugated cardboard
- Chipboard or boxboard
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Mixed office paper
- Phonebooks/textbooks
- Brown paper bags
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS?
Glass, aerosol cans, liquids, appliances, ashes, building materials or scraps, ceramic plates and cups, clothing, electronics, furniture, garbage, paint cans, plastic bags, Styrofoam, tires, toys, windows and mirrors, or yard waste.
DETAILS
- Any Rock Island citizen or business may join the program.
- Each subscriber will receive one 48 gallon recycling cart.
- All recyclables will be placed in one cart.
- The recycling carts will be emptied every two weeks.
- Once your subscription has been processed, you will receive a recycling cart plus specific information about the curbside recycling collection schedule and setout locations.
- Subscribers may join the program anytime during the year.
