ABANDONED VEHICLE DIVISION
The Abandoned Vehicle Division is responsible for investigating all abandoned vehicle complaints, notifying appropriate authorities as to abandoned vehicles and maintaining all computer records on abandoned vehicles. Additionally, this division is responsible for investigating and processing all vehicles which are impounded by the Department. The Community Service Officer assigned to this division is also responsible for other duties as required. Currently in the City of Rock Island, any vehicle that sits idle on a public street for more than 72 hours is considered abandoned.
