Rock Island Fitness & Activity Center, located at 4303 - 24 St, provides fitness activities for the entire family. The facility features an indoor heated swimming pool, 36 piece equipment room, free weight room, double court gym with volleyball options, indoor running track, racquetball courts, sauna, whirlpool, full locker and shower facilities, tanning room and babysitting service. A preschool and conferences rooms are also available. Facility memberships are available by calling 732-RIFC (7432).
The Parks and Recreation Department is currently working with an architect on the design for an expansion including community recreation classroom and gymnasium space. Improvements will also include an upgrade to the pool deck and replacement of the whirlpool. Construction is estimated to begin within two years. |
