Rescue 34: 1995 Alexis Rescue. Rescue 34 responds to all motor vehicle accidents, Hazardous Materials incidents, and technical rescue operations within the City of Rock Island. Equipment includes the “Jaws of Life”, airbags, and rope rescue equipment. Rescue 34 also responds in territory to all EMS calls and is certified at the advanced life support(ALS) level of care. A new rescue is budgeted to be ordered in 2009.
Truck 34: 1994 Alexis 75’ Quint. Truck 34 responds to all high rise building fire incidents in the City of Rock Island. It is equipped with a 1500 GPM pump to provide fire suppression operations. Truck operations are focused on ventilation and rescue. Truck 34 is the primary response for an engine in territory, and is also certified at the Basic Life Support(BLS) level of medical care.
