Biography:
Margie Mejia-Caraballo is currently serving her first term representing the 5th Ward. A native Quad-Citian, Alderwoman Mejia-Caraball has lived in Rock Island her whole life. She was elected to the City Council in 2007 and her term will expire May 1, 2009.
Alderwoman Mejia-Caraballo was a graduate of Rock Island High School and went on to attend Hesston College and then on to Eastern Mennonite College.
Alderwoman Mejia-Caraballo has a husband, Josue, and two children, Abigail and Josue. In her free time, Alderwoman Mejia-Caraballo enjoys gardening, reading, bike riding, and spending time with her family. When asked her favorite things of Rock Island, Alderwoman Mejia-Caraballo replied, “The great schools, historic neighborhoods that create a community feeling where people interact, and the Downtown District which is the best in the QCA in terms of character and charm.”
